Welcome to McGavock, Home of the Raiders and The Best School in Town! Thank you for visiting our Big Mac Website. My name is Robbin Wall and I have the distinct pleasure of being the Executive Principal of this Nationally Recognized "MODEL" Academy High School. Academy Highlights

  • McGavock student-run business Teen Safety Enterprises, created "DNT TXT N DRV" key chains. The business has raised enough funds to give all 6,000 juniors a key chain.
  • The CSI team at McGavock placed first in state for criminal justice, CSI, extemporaneous speaking, and community service as well as placed third in the national competition.
  • McGavock teams snagged two of the three national winning spots in the National Park's Expression of Freedom Video Competition.
  • Engineering students collaborated with NASA through the Hunch Program to create hardware for the space station.

  • Graduation rate increased by 21.5%
  • Daily attendance rate at 94%
  • $3 million in scholarship awarded to the 2013 graduation class
  • 249 active PENCIL Academy Partnerships
  • $2.3 million one year community investment, 31,435 volunteer hours

McGavock offers unique programs

McGavock offers the Cambridge Advanced International Certificate of Education program. This program was formed by the University of Cambridge in England.

McGavock also offers the AVID program. The AVID program aims to turn students in the academic middle into high achieving, college-bound individuals.
