Melissa Gascon--Sixth Grade
After moving to Nashville from Plaquemine, Louisiana, I attended St. Henry’s and Father Ryan High School. In college, I studied Photography and received my B.A in Environmental Studies from Prescott College in Arizona. I earned my M.A.T in Education from Belmont University.
I was a camper and a counselor at Camp Marymount in Fairview, TN for 14 years. I spent my early twenties touring the country in my Volkswagen, stopping along the way to work as an Environmental Educator & Summer Camp Counselor on Catalina Island in California.
I have completed a 100-mile backcountry-backpacking trip in the Matazal Mountains in Arizona, and an 80-mile sea kayaking expedition along the Sonoran coast in Mexico. I have traveled around France, Italy, and I look forward to visiting many more countries…I want to go everywhere.
When I am not teaching, I enjoy traveling, hiking, reading, spending time with my friends, and snuggling with my cutie kittens.
I am very happy to be teaching sixth-grade science and social studies at Croft.
