I wish to welcome all parents and visitors to Taylor Stratton Elementary web page. This exciting avenue of communication will help to inform you about school events and grade level activities. There will be links to Metro school departments, Stratton teachers and sites that offer research and learning. Our Goal is to make Taylor Stratton a great place for students and parents to learn.
At Taylor Stratton we are working hard to provide the best learning opportunities for your child. We are striving to find new ways of learning and teaching to engage your child in the learning process. With a dedicated and highly qualifies staff we look forward to having the opportunity of providing an education to your child.
The 2011-2012 school year provides new opportunities for parents to become involved with the school. Taylor Stratton Elementary has recently organized a Parent Teacher Association (PTA). We look forward to providing parent learning activities that will support your childs development and discover new ways to involve the parent with the school.
We are very focused on providing Researched Based Reading instruction with professional development and reading strategies to improve childrens reading and language arts skills. Title 1, a federally funded grant, provides for parent involvement activities, technology to improve instruction and after school tutoring opportunities. With these funds Stratton is focusing on improvements in Math, Social Studies and Writing. Every school year we analyze our student data, achievement scores and with parent involvement so that we are focused on student achievement. Again, welcome to Taylor Stratton where everyday is a great day to learn.
