 Students      The Croft Curriculum

Croft Middle School offers a variety of curricular activities for our students.  All students follow the standards set by Metro Public Schools for core academic subjects for each grade level.  However, students with advanced reading skills are placed in challenging reading classes designed to enrich their learning experiences.  Our sixth and seventh graders who excel in mathematics take pre-algebra classes, and advanced seventh grade students may take Algebra I for high school credit.  Eighth graders who meet qualifications may take Algebra I or Geometry, Spanish, and/or Physical Science for high school credit.  In addition, we provide classes that give students extra help in areas where a deficit is shown.

Croft Middle School offers a variety of related arts classes for our students.  These courses include band, strings, chorus, art, physical education, health, and computers.  We are fortunate to have an outstanding media center which provides the students with many reading and research opportunities, as well as guest speakers and special programs.  We also are pleased to have a full-time Zoo Coordinator who provides our students with numerous opportunities to incorporate the zoo and the environment into our daily routines.

Croft Middle School

is privileged to have an outstanding guidance department.  Our counselors visit with classes on a regular basis to provide students with the skills they will need in the future.  In addition, Croft has a full-time School Resource Officer who leads classes in Gang Resistance Education for sixth graders and Drug Resistance Education for fifth graders.  There are also two full-time Campus Security Officers who help maintain a positive atmosphere within the building.
