Parent School Compact
 

J. E. MOSS PARENT-SCHOOL COMPACT

2009/2010 School Year

The Parent-School Compact is an agreement of promise between school and home that states the commitment of school faculty and staff, parents, and students to provide a learning environment in which ALL children can develop to their potential.  The compact will be kept on file in each teacher’s classroom and will be reviewed at conferences and at other times when necessary.

              AS A J. E. MOSS ELEMENTARY PARENT/GUARDIAN, I WILL:

_____  See that my child attends school regularly and on time.
_____  Communicate with my child’s teacher by attending conferences and reviewing student progress
              reports.
_____  Insist that all homework assignments are completed.
_____  Talk with my child about his/her school activities and lessons every day.
_____  Be actively involved in my child’s education by attending meetings, completing surveys,
              volunteering, observing, participating in events, or serving on committees.

              AS A J. E. MOSS ELEMENTARY STUDENT, I WILL:

_____  Behave in a safe and respectful manner, so that all students can learn.
_____  Always try to do my best on my work and in my behavior.
_____  Obey school, classroom, and bus rules.
_____  Discuss school activities and lessons with my parents every day.
_____  Believe that I can learn and be successful.
_____  Take pride in my school.

              AS A J. E. MOSS ELEMENTARY FACULTY MEMBER, I WILL:

_____  Strive to meet the different developmental, social, emotional, academic, and physical needs of 
              each student.
_____  Provide quality instruction based on the needs and progress of the students.
_____  Share student progress and hte Parent-Teacher Compact  through conferences and student
              progress reports.
_____  Implement a consistent discipline plan, with clear rules and consequences.
_____  Believe our school and community depend on each other for success.
_____  Follow the policies set forth by Metro Nashville Public Schools.
_____  Communicate with and encourage opportunities for parents to volunteer, observe, and participate
              in classroom activities.
_____  Believe teachers, students, and parents must work together to achieve success.
