At Head Middle Magnet School, we offer our students a variety of activities to participate in. These activities allow our students to be successful in academics, athletics, and life.

Science Carnival 9.9.2011
A NIGHT OF MATH AND FUN! On Thursday, October 6, 2011, from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30, the faculty and staff of Head Middle Magnet School showed about 60 families how to have FUN with math. Parents and students worked with shapes, cards, tanagrams, surveys,food labels, and IXL. Click here to view the Slideshow.

Deb White, counselor at MLK, came to Head on Thursday, October 6 at 9:00 to present an overview of the PSAT. To view a PowerPoint with information regarding the PSAT, please click here.


On Friday, October 28, Pastries with Parents was held in Head’s Library at 8:00 a.m. Mrs. Stephanie Ham gave parents information on how your child can check out books from the Public Library via Head Magnet’s library. Her Power Point presentation is available here.


Head held its annual Egg Drop on Thursday, October 13th. Parents, teachers, and especially the students, had a great time watching the egg-filled vessals plummet to the ground. The purpose of the Egg Drop is to see if the raw egg placed in the vessel that is created by your child will stay in tack once the drop is complete.Pictures are available here.

On Friday, Septemebr 9th,VSVS (Vanderbilt Students Volunteering for Science) sponsored a Science Carnival immediately after school in the cafeteria. Students had a great time! Click here for the Photostory.

On Saturday, September 24, 2011, Head Middle Magnet School participated in Hands on Nashville Day from 8:00 a.m. until 12 noon. We focused on mulching the grounds of Head Magnet. A special thank you goes out to everyone who helped increase the curb appeal of our school grounds. Your sweat equity is very much appreciated!
