How ‘bout that Burro Football Team?!

Hillsboro High School

Home of the 2008 Tennessee 4A
STATE CHAMPIONS!
Go Burros!

BURROS MAKE HISTORY

History was made by the Hillsboro High School football team in Murfreesboro, Tennessee last Saturday.  Hillsboro and Maryville staged a classic battle at MTSU stadium in one of the more memorable State Championship games in recent history.  Maryville came into the game sporting the nation's longest active winning streak at 74 games.  Hillsboro jumped on top to take a 7-0 lead in the first half.  Maryville came out in the third quarter and tied the score at 7-7.  The score remained tied and the two teams went back a forth until midway through the 4th quarter.  Hillsboro drove the ball down inside the Maryville 5 yard line.  On fourth down, they decided to go for the field goal.  In what proved to be the game winning score, G.R. Pulley snapped a perfect ball to Hendrix Brakefield who, as he has done all year, caught and placed the ball down for Jacob Noe, who then kicked the ball through the uprights and Hillsboro into the history books securing the 2008 4A State Championship while at the same time snapping the nation's longest winning streak.  The kick and the Burros hoisting the Championship trophy were highlighted on ESPN that night setting off a storm of unprecedented national media coverage for a high school final.  The win caps an incredible season filled with challenge and adversity.  Coach Blade and his staff have done a magnificent job preparing this team for its ultimate destiny.  This has truly been a season to remember for our 2008 Burro Football Team.

Several Items of Interest from the HHS Yearbook Staff

1) Last week was our second installment of the payment plan for families who want to pay over a period of months. We know that somehow news doesn't always make it back home to the parents, so students can still pay October's $10 in Mr. Groom's room during lunch or they can pay $20 in November's payment and be right on track. Parents, we will always take up the money on Tuesday and Wednesday of the last school week of each month. (November will be the 18th and 19th due to Thanksgiving.) We will try to do a better job reminding you.

2) The yearbook staff can finally announce the price list for the 2009 yearbook. There are several options, each including one copy of the 2009 yearbook:

Option 1: a two-line nameplate with two marks for $80.40.
Option 2: a two-line nameplate with one mark for $78.50.
Option 3: a one-line nameplate with two marks for $78.20.
Option 4: a one-line nameplate with one mark for $76.40.
Option 5: a two-line nameplate for $74.90.
Option 6: a one-line nameplate for $72.75.
Option 7: One copy of the 2009 yearbook for $65.00.

Information about the nameplate and marks may be accessed at www.yearbooks.biz by typing 'name plate' in the search window in the upper right corner. We also have a handout showing the different options of marks for the nameplates.
Students may pick those up in Mr. Groom's room between classes or during lunch.

3) Senior ads may now be purchased at the following rates:
$350 for a double page
$200 for a full page
$125 for a half page
$75 for a quarter page

See Mr. Groom for a form that explains how the layout pages will be divided and arranged. You may submit your own plan for your ad or trust us to do the best layout we can.

Once you have studied all of your options, fill out the form and return it with your payment to Annual Staff at HHS. (Vocational Bld. Rm. 231, Mr. Groom). You may also choose to pay during next month's pre-pay option.

We will also be including this information in a mailed form to all households in our school records.
