Metro Nashville Public Schools has two types of Pre-Kindergarten Programs: General Education Pre-Kindergarten classes and Blended Pre-Kindergarten classes.General Education Pre-Kindergarten classes include:
- Locally funded Pre-Kindergarten classrooms;
- State funded Pre-Kindergarten classrooms; and
- Title I funded Pre-Kindergarten classroom.
Blended classes are designed for typical children and children with disabilities.
It is important to note that entrance requirements and/or fees may vary depending on which type of Pre-Kindergarten class a student is enrolled.
Local Pre-Kindergarten Classrooms for 4-Year-Old Children To be eligible, your child must be four years old on or before September 30th of the current school year. Locally funded Pre-Kindergarten classrooms are fee-based. Fees are charged on a sliding scale (see insert). Local Pre-Kindergarten classrooms are located at the following school sites:

Title I and State Funded Pre-Kindergarten Classrooms for 4-Year-Old Programs
Title 1 Funded Pre-Kindergarten Classrooms Enrollment is based on the Developmental Screening Assessment and other at-risk factors.
State Funded Pre-Kindergarten Classrooms First priority for enrollment is all children who meet income guidelines, and are four years old by September 30th. If space is available after enrolling children who meet income guidelines, the program may enroll children who have other risk factors. State and Title I funded classrooms are located at the following school sites:

Blended Pre-Kindergarten Classrooms for 3 and 4-Year-Old Children
To be eligible, your child must be three years old or four years old on or before September 30th of the current school year. Blended Pre-Kindergarten classrooms are fee-based for typical peers. Fees are charged on a sliding scale. Blended Pre-Kindergarten classes are designed for typical children and children with disabilities. Spaces are limited. Four-year-old typical peers will receive priority enrollment. Three-year-old typical peers will be enrolled if space is available. Three and four-year-old children with disabilities will be placed through the Individualized Education Plan (IEP) process. - In Zone students;
- Children residing in the cluster will be admitted, if space is available; and
- Davidson County children will be admitted, if space is available.
- Pre-Kindergarten Developmental Screening Assessment;
- Children of MNPS Employees will be admitted, if space is available.
