JTM Book Drive Begins January 9th
Imagine growing up in a home without a single book. For too many children in the Nashville area, it's a way of life. You can help change this by participating in the annual JT Moore Book Drive. Once again, we will be partnering with Book'Em and Hands on Nashville to collect new and gently used books for distribution to children and teens in lower income families. Last year, our Matadors collected over 1,300 books, placing JTM near the top of the school book drive challenge. This year, our goal is to collect 2,000 books.
Books will be collected at JTM beginning Monday, January 9 through Tuesday, January 31. Books for 3rd to 12th graders and bilingual are especially needed.
Please place your books in the collection boxes in the school lobby.
Boxes are labeled by grade level. The grade that collects the most books will win an out of SSA day! Students who donate 5 or more books will earn one community service hour. To earn a service hour, be sure to bag and label your donation with name, grade and homeroom teacher.
Don't miss this opportunity to encourage the love of reading. Clean out those bookshelves, closets, and under-bed hideaways and donate your books to a child who who needs them. For more information about the JTM Book Drive, contact Lacey Bulow (bulowbunch@comcast.net) or Angie Howard (angiephoward@att.net).
