 Reminders - School Policies

School Colors/Dress Code
In addition to the Metro-Davidson County dress code, the students at Margaret Allen are requested to wear school colors every day.
Pants/Skirts - Black or Khaki - No Blue Jeans
Tops - Burgundy, White, Black, Khaki or Light Blue
Shoes must be secured to your feet - no flipflops
Belts worn with pants.
All tops must be tucked in.

Please remember there is to be no writing on the tops or pants. You will not need to wear an outer jacket all day. (Jackets with hoods and hand-warmers are considered to be outer jackets).

This "school color" dress code will be monitored for safety reasons and to represent our school at its best.

I.D. Badges
All students are required by the Board of Education to wear an I.D. Badge to enter the school. The badge must be worn around the students neck and displayed at all times.
If the student loses the I.D. Badge or fails to wear it, he/she will be charged $8.00 for another one. The I.D. Badge is essential for lunch, the library, and getting into any special event such as athletic games, school programs, field trips, etc. Please help your children locate a secure place to keep their I.D. Badge so they will not lose it or forget it.

I.D. Badges will not be made on special event days.

Student Cell Phones

Students may possess a cellular telephone in school providing that during school hours and on a school bus the cell phone remains off and must be concealed.
If a student is caught trying to call out on the phone during the day, receive messages from outside callers during the day, or sending any text messages to another student the phone will be taken up. If a phone is taken from the student, the administrator will contact the parent and provisions will be made for the parent to pick up the phone.
The student who possesses a cellular phone shall assume responsibility for its care. At no time shall Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools be responsible for preventing theft, loss or damage to cell phones brought onto its property.
Possession of a cellular telephone by a student is a privilege, which may be forfeited by any student who fails to abide by the terms of the Board's policy.

Telephone

Use of the telephone by students is limited to emergency calls and school business calls only. Calls for permission to attend parties and ride buses with
friends, etc. will not be permitted. These matters should be taken care of at home. Every phone call must be cleared by the administration. The call will be made by office staff.
