Title I

Title I is the largest federal assistance program for our nation's schools.  The goal of Title I is a high-quality education for every child, so the program provides extra help to students who need it most.  These are children who are the furthest from meeting the standards the state has set for all children.

The federal government provides funding to states each year for Title I.  To get the funds, each state must submit a plan describing:

  • what all children are expected to know and be able to do
  • the high-quality standards of performance that all children are expected to meet
  • ways to measure progress
As a parent, you're part of the Title I team at Chadwell Elementary!  You influence your child's education more than anyone.  Your involvement can boost your child's achievement!  By taking an active role, you'll show your child:
  • how important he or she is to you
  • how important education is to you
  • that you and the school are a team
Chadwell Elementary's Title I budget for the 2007-2008 school year estimated to be $102,529.00  The following was funded through this budget:

  • full-time Title 1 Coordinator/Math Teacher
  • part-time Reading Recovery teacher
  • after-school tutoring for 3rd grade students in the area of mathematics
  • instructional materials/supplies to engage student learning
