The Metropolitan Nashville Board of Education announces a vacancy in the following position:
ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL - HUME-FOGG HIGH MAGNET SCHOOL
Nashville's first public school, Hume High School, opened in 1855 at the corner of Eighth Avenue and Broad. In 1875, the second public school, Fogg High School, was started on the same property facing Broad Street. The schools were combined into a new facility on the same site in 1912 and became know as Hume-Fogg High School. In 1919 Hume-Fogg became the first school in Tennessee to be accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
The 848 students attending Hume-Fogg were selected county-wide from students with total reading and mathematics stanine scores each averaging 7 or above and an academic grade point average of at least 85 (B) with no failing grades. Our program promotes high academic standards through challenging course work and both independent and cooperative learning formats. We encourage creative thinking, abstract reasoning, self-discipline, integrity, public service and pursuit of individual interest.

QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants must be licensed or eligible for licensure as a principal by the Tennessee Department of Education, have a minimum of three (3) years of successful teaching experience, and have a minimum of a Master's Degree.
