Parents' Rights in Education

We are very proud of the wonderful teachers, paraprofessionals, students, and parents at J.E. Moss! As a parent, you play an important role in your child’s education and there are certain rights that you have. Under the No Child Left Behind Law, parents have the right to:

  • Request the qualifications of your child’s teacher and/or paraprofessional.
  • Be notified if your child has been taught four weeks by a teacher who is not certified.
  • Know if our school has met the state’s standard as a “Safe School.”
  • Know if your school meets the state’s academic standards.

J.E. Moss Elementary is a “Safe School” and we are in "Good Standing" with regard to the No Child Left Behind Law.  We made Adequate Yearly Progress.  With your support 88% of our students are reading proficiently or advanced and 95% of our students are proficient or advanced in mathematics.
