SUMMER ART CAMP FOR STUDENTS

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

“Arts In Action” is a Metro Public Schools’ summer arts camp for students, ages 8-12 years old. No exceptions will be made for 7-13 year old children. Students enrolled in the summer program will be actively engaged in quality instruction and performance in the visual and performing arts – music, dance, drama and visual arts.

Students will attend each weekday from 8:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. and will bring their own lunches and drinks. Students must be picked up no later than 2:30 p.m.

PHILOSOPHY OF THE PROGRAM

The Arts in Action Camp offers a stimulating environment filled with creative, enriching experiences to help students develop skills and talents already possessed, and to encourage new ideas and self- expression.

Each child will experience active participation and quality instruction in the areas of music, visual art, dance and drama from a highly qualified staff of artist-teachers.

On the last day of camp, all camp participants will be featured in an artwork exhibition and musical production.

Students attending the Arts in Action are expected to be present for the entire nine day camp, including the final night performance. Because spaces are limited, we ask that only students who are genuinely committed to the arts apply.

CAMP FEE

Camp Fee Tuition - $100 (non-refundable)

Camp fees are used to cover the cost of the tee shirt, musical production, art supplies and teachers’ salaries. Please make checks payable to: Metro Nashville Public Schools.
Camp Fees must be paid in full; partial payments or deposits will not be accepted.
