Student Assignment Services
The Student Assignment Services Department serves as a support function for the Metropolitan Nashville Public School district by providing fair and equitable student assignment plans, as well as designing and implementing appropriate policies for school options.
The Student Assignment staff helps to assure the best use of school building capacity. This is done by reviewing the school attendance boundaries and administering the school choice plan to allow students to attend an optional school. We seek to increase parental involvement by allowing parents to apply for the school that best suits the needs and interests of their child.
We support the district vision to provide every student with the foundation of knowledge, skills and character necessary to excel in higher education, work and life. We embrace and value a diverse student population and community. Different perspectives and backgrounds form the cornerstone of our strong public education system.
