What Makes Our School Unique?
Welcome to McGavock Elementary School! Our school serves approximately 265 students in the heart of the Donelson Area. We value our diverse population of students and pride ourselves on our dedication toward providing the highest quality education to each individual student. We also proudly serve as an English Language (EL) center. Our faculty and staff strive to provide a positive learning environment where all students are motivated and challenged to fulfill their potential. We use a variety of strategies to engage students in learning and practicing new concepts. We strongly believe that students of all ability levels should interact and learn from each other, we practice this belief by integrating students of differing abilities throughout the educational program of the school Our vision is that McGavock Elementary provides an education where all excel. Our mission at McGavock Elementary is to provide a place where all can achieve their highest level of learning. As a testament to our vision and mission, we have won the Nashville Chamber of Commerce's AYP Red Apple Award and TVAAS Gold Apple Award for two years in a row. In 2009, the Education Consumer's Foundation ranked McGavock Elementary 33rd out of 771 Tennessee schools for annual TVAAS growth. |
