| What Does Our School Offer? |
Nashville Big Picture High School offers a unique, non-traditional and innovative curriculum. Based upon the philosophy of Big Picture Learning designed by visionary educators Dennis Littky and Elliot Washer, Nashville Big Picture High School seeks to enhance the learning process for students by working with all students to secure an internship in our community. In addition, many Big Picture students exceed the course offerings within the school environment and participate in dual enrollment with Nashville State Community College and Tennessee Technology Center Nashville. Big Picture students enjoy the creative, student centered atmosphere and quickly become members in a culture of kindness. | |
What Makes Our School Unique?
The Nashville Big Picture High School is the first of its type in the southeast. We educate one student at a time, so each student curriculum is determined by his or her unique interests, background and learning style. All students work on projects in real-world settings related to their interests and deevelop strong relationships with advisors and project mentors. At NBPHS, we enroll families, not just students. Our student body is diverse and our expectation is that our students will graduate and be accepted to college.
As a college preparatory school, our goal is for our students to enroll in and complete college level courses during their junior year with our dual enrollment partners: Nashville State Community College or Tennessee Technology Center at Nashville. |
Program Goals
100% college readiness 100% graduation rate 100% participation in internship To develop a culture of kindness To instill a passion for learning To assist students in finding a career that offers personal satisfaction and success |
Who Attends Our School?
