Administrative Salary Scale for a Coordinator
REPORTS TO: The Director of Student Services
QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of a Master’s Degree with an appropriate teachers and administrative certification with a combined five (5) years of teaching and administrative experience. Applicant must have had experience working in the area of discipline and behavior concerns.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. To have an understanding of current local, state and federal laws, court cases, policies and procedures including IDEA and Due Process pertaining to education.
2. Must be able to communicate using clear, concise, and grammatically correct correspondence.
3. To have and use excellent organizational skills.
4. Must be able to use Microsoft Word and Excel successfully in the performance of the job.
5. Must ensure the proper student disciplinary process for the expulsion of a student has been followed as defined by the MNPS Code of Conduct and State law.
6. Must make sound recommendations regarding alternative placements/programs for students.
7. To monitor and assist in the transition of students to and from their assigned schools while remanded or expelled.
8. To assist local school administration and Central Office administration in planning, operating, and evaluating activities and programs relative to student discipline within the designated district’s schools.
9. Must evaluate the secretary for the Department for Student Disciplinary Referrals.
10. Must have a sense of fairness, justice, responsibility, strong work ethic including but not limited to attendance, promptness, and a positive work attitude.
11. To have and maintain a valid Tennessee Drivers License, a vehicle to provide necessary transportation to fulfill the requirements of the job, and the vehicle must be insured.
12. Must be willing and able to perform all duties and other duties as assigned.
