Dual Diagnosis

One of the programs which helps make Harris Hillman a unique and vibrant school is Dual Diagnosis . 

Students in this classroom face various challenges, such as Autism, Downs Syndrome and/or varying levels of MR. Some students also have behavioral challenges which can manifest in the form of aggression.

The staff in this classrom are specifically trained  to prevent or manage these behaviors so that Dual Diagnosis students are able to participate in and enjoy the same opportunities and quality of education as other Harris Hillman students. 

Dual Diagnosis students work on functional academics in areas such as math and reading as well "Lifeskills" and vocational training.
