APPLICATIONS SENT HOME Thurs., November 1, 2012
Includes “pathway continuation forms” for students
moving from elementary to middle or middle to high
school on an approved pathway.
“WALK-THROUGH TUESDAYS” Tues., November 13, 20 & 27
APPLICATION/PATHWAY DEADLINE Fri., November 30, 2012
Parents return forms to the Office of School Options. by 5:30 PM
Applications received by this deadline will be selected
during the random selection process on Selection Day.
This deadline also includes all “pathway continuation
forms” for students moving from elementary to middle
or middle to high school on an approved pathway.
Applications received after this deadline will be placed at
the end of the wait list.
SELECTION DAY CARDS MAILED Mon., January 7, 2013
SELECTION DAY Sat., January 12, 2013
The random selection will be held on this date for all
optional schools (11th and 12th grades are not included)
CONTINUATION LETTERS Mon., January 14, 2013
Optional schools will send home a continuation letter.
(This affects students who will be changing grades, but staying
in the same school for the next year.) Pre-K students do not receive
continuation letters except for Hull Jackson and Stanford.

ACCEPTANCE/WAIT LIST LETTERS Wed., January 23, 2013
The acceptance and wait list letters will be mailed.

DEADLINE –ACCEPTANCE LETTERS Fri., February 8, 2013
The acceptance letter must be returned to the
Office of School Options by this date by 5:30 PM.
ACCEPTANCE LETTERS MAILED – 1ST PULL Wed., February 20, 2013
Entry level and non-entry level grades will be mailed
acceptance letters.

The acceptance letter must be returned to the

ACCEPTANCE LETTERS MAILED – 2ND PULL Wed., April 10, 2013
Entry level and non-entry level grades will be mailed
acceptance letters for any open seats.
DEADLINE - 2nd PULL ACCEPTANCE LETTERS Fri., April 26, 2013
The acceptance letter must be returned to the
Office of School Options by this date by 5:30 PM.
SCHOOL ASSIGNMENT VERIFICATION LETTERS Wed., May 1, 2013
All students will be mailed a letter to verify the school
assigned for 2013-14 school year.
DEADLINE – SCHOOL VERIFICATION LETTERS Wed., May 22, 2013
The school assignment verification letter must be returned to the
Office of School Options by this date by 5:30 PM.
No applications will be accepted after this date except
for families new to MNPS.
ACCEPTANCE LETTERS MAILED – 3rd PULL Wed., June 5, 2013
Entry level and non-entry level grades will be mailed
acceptance letters for any open seats.
DEADLINE - 3rd PULL ACCEPTANCE LETTERS Fri., June 21, 2013
The acceptance letter must be returned to the
Office of School Options by this date by 4:30 PM.
ACCEPTANCE LETTERS MAILED – 4th PULL Wed., July 10, 2013
Entry level and non-entry level grades will be mailed
acceptance letters for any open seats.
DEADLINE - 4th PULL ACCEPTANCE LETTERS Fri., July 26, 2013
The acceptance letter must be returned to the
Office of School Options by this date by 4:30 PM.
FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL August 1, 2013
There will be an additional pull in the month of either July or August after TCAP scores are in. This pull will be limited to the pathway to Martin L. King and Hume-Fogg for Head, Rose Park, John Early and Meigs students who did not qualify in the fall. These dates will be posted on the website (www.mnps.org) as soon as they are known.
If you are expecting a pathway form after June and will be on vacation in July, please email jenai.hayes@mnps.org for more information.
We will call parents during the first five days of school about openings and you will have 24 hours to accept or decline. Please consider your transportation and child care plans now. Send phone number changes, in writing, to the Office of School Options or email sandy.kinslow@mnps.org.
MAKE SURE YOUR ADDRESS AND PHONE NUMBERS ARE UPDATED WITH THE OFFICE OF
SCHOOL OPTIONS. These must be in writing with a parent signature and can be emailed, faxed, mailed or brought in to Customer Service. Please provide this information at least a week before the letters will be mailed.
