D.A.R.E. and G.R.E.A.T.

D.A.R.E. IS SUBSTANCE ABUSE PREVENTION EDUCATION AND MUCH MORE!

D.A.R.E. is making a difference in the lives of young people around the country and around the world. In fact, the success of the D.A.R.E. program has been documented in numerous research studiesD.A.R.E.'s  mission is to equip kids with the tools that will enable them to avoid negative influences and instead, allow them to focus on their strengths and potential. And, that's exactly what D.A.R.E. is designed to do.  Additionally, it establishes positive relationships between students and law enforcement, teachers, parents, and other community leaders. Every youngster should have the opportunity to grow-up healthy, safe, secure, and equipped with the skills needed to succeed in life.

The G.R.E.A.T. Program is a violence-prevention curriculum that teaches students important skills to help them avoid gangs, violence, drug abuse, and crime. The purpose of G.R.E.A.T. is to help students develop beliefs and practice behaviors that will help them avoid destructive habits. During the G.R.E.A.T. lessons, students will be working closely with their G.R.E.A.T. instructor, who serves as a mentor and positive role model for the class.

One of the reasons G.R.E.A.T. works so well is that it is a collaborative effort among the police department, the school, and you!
