The Metropolitan Nashville Board of Education announces a vacancy in the following position:

COORDINATOR FOR READING CLINICS AND INITIATIVES

REPORTS TO:  Assistant Superintendent for Instructional Support

REQUIREMENTS:  Applicant must possess teacher licensure and experience in reading instruction.  Master's degree in Reading, Curriculum & Instruction, or other related field preferred.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:  The coordinator of the reading clinics will coordinate services for reading clinics throughout the district, including professional development, and consulting on district initiatives.
   1.  Coordinate with area universities for tutoring services provided by university students.
   2.  Monitor staffing and implementation of reading program at designated locations.
   3.  Work collaboratively with schools to identify students for tutoring program.
   4.  Coordinate professional development in the area of evidence-based reading strategies.
   5.  Support district-wide Response to Intervention efforts.
   6.  Design and deliver professional development for lowest performing schools in reading.
   7.  Collaborate with district reading coaches in lowest performing schools.
