Coordinator of Magnet Schools
Office of Innovation
12 Months - Support Salary Pay Grade 13 - $28.52
Reports to Executive Director for Innovation
Major Responsibilities:
· Possess ability and skills to develop, manage, and monitor a budget
· Manage all aspects of the Magnet Schools Assistance Program project
· Collaborate with the Magnet Schools Assistance Program external evaluator to produce documentation about MNPS’ Magnet Schools for the U.S. Department of Education
· Provide magnet school information and data for the Rigorous Evaluation of MNPS’ Magnet Schools for the U.S. Department of Education
· Collaborate with external evaluator to supply information about MNPS’ Magnet Schools for the U.S Department of Education’s website, MSAPCenter.org
· Supervise all project staff including the magnet resource teachers, the marketing/recruiting coordinator, the parent coordinators, and magnet office staff
· Coordinate, with the magnet instructional designers, all project meetings and workshops
· Coordinate with consultants providing support for the programs at the magnet schools
· Supervise and coordinate the recruitment/application process and the magnet lottery
· Research, order, and distribute instructional materials and equipment necessary for the MSAP project
· Arrange and schedule site visits for magnet school teachers and administrators, both local and out-of district, in order to share successful practices
· Work collaboratively with Central Office and school administrators
· Possess ability to develop and assist with the implementation of magnet curriculum and instructional improvement
· Develop and maintain community relations and resources for the magnet schools
· Coordinate Fine Arts information and in-service professional development for the MNPS Fine Arts teachers
· Participate in the Central Office Elementary and Secondary Leadership Teams
Qualifications:
· Successful experience as a school administrator
· Successful experience as a magnet school teacher
· Valid Tennessee teacher’s license required
· Master’s degree or endorsement in administration and supervision (K-12)
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
· Available for staff training in the Teacher Evaluation Framework
· Conduct professional development on magnet school issues, curriculum and instruction, brain-compatible learning, and student achievement
