Being an educator is more than a job or a profession for me. My commitment to education is a lifelong journey that I travel with the utmost care, concern, quality, and dedication to the young minds I am privileged to help mold. Because I am a mother, I pride myself in conducting my classroom the way I would want my children’s teachers to do. I am a strong advocate of the home-classroom connection. I believe that teachers and parents must communicate and be on the same page concerning our students so that they may receive the best instruction and classroom experience possible. I also truly believe that, indeed, it does take a village to raise a child.

My name is Mrs. McLean and, I am originally from Birmingham, Alabama. I attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), receiving my Bachelor of Arts degree in English. Since being a resident here in Nashville, I have received a Master of Arts Degree in Teaching from Trevecca Nazarene University. I have been teaching for nine years with experience and certification in Secondary Education, teaching every grade level ranging from 7^th-12^th grade. I am highly qualified in Reading and Language Arts Grades (6-12).

I am so excited to be here at Croft. The (2011-2012) school year is my third teaching year here in MNPS. My family and I have also only been in Nashville, TN three years. I am married and have two very precocious school aged sons, who are also students in MNPS and one newly born baby girl. In my spare time, I love to read, research, write, have quality family time, shop, travel, and participate in church-related activities.
