Croft Middle School features an in-house TV studio, WCMS. A talented crew of students has learned how to use the cameras, edit tape, and present a professional live newscast of announcements every morning. A select group of students also delivers these announcements in best newscaster form. These students have gained a wealth of knowledge, including:
- Use of video equipment, including cameras, sound boards, and microphones
- Editing taped interviews for broadcast
- Trouble-shooting videos
- Public speaking skills
- Writing and organizing of information
- Reporting of school events
- Responsibility of equipment
- Time management
- Interactive use of cameras and computers in broadcast and editing
- Professional presentation
