The Croft PTO Board is working hard on the plans for the 2009-2010 school year. We are counting on your help to make this a successful year. The PTO has three fundraisers per year. The membership campaign, INVEST in Excellence campaign (tax-deductible donation) and The International Fair. What, you may ask, is the PTO going to do with this money? Financially, our goal as a PTO is to support the work of the school in securing the best possible education for our students. Among the teacher requests we have already received for this school year are:
- 16 school buses for field trips (Zoo and Bison Brunch)
- Calculators for TCAP testing
- Science lab supplies for all grade level
- Weekly Reader subscriptions for students
- Bringing a dramatic presentation of the Dickens' classic "A Christmas Carol" to Croft
- Various important audiovisual needs, including digital equipment necessary for WCMS and the Croft yearbook staff
- Fees associated with our Band and Orchestra students participating in the MTSBOA competition
These are just some of the very worthy places your money is going when you give through the Croft PTO.

Ways to help your child
Join the PTO: Membership is only $10 per family and we would like every parent and grandparent to become a member. This includes a $5 rechargeable Kroger gift card registered to benefit Croft with every recharge you make.
INVEST in Excellence: The PTO Board has made the decision not to ask students to sell anything this year, since other programs in the school will be conducting fundraising sales. Instead, the Croft PTO has an Invest in Excellence campaign. We are asking you to make a donation to the Croft PTO to fund our budget. Please make your pledge today!
Ways to benefit Croft without spending any extra money:
- Collect General Mills Box Tops: Each box top that you return to Croft is worth 10 cents to the Croft PTO. Please drop your Box Tops in the box in the office.
- Kroger Rechargeable Gift Cards
- Publix cards Simply scan these when making purchases at Publix.
- Campbell's labels. Send in the UPC code on all Campbell's products.
- Recycle old printer cartridges and cell phones.
- Shop online at www.schoolpop.com: Visit this website and check out the participating merchants and register so that your purchases will benefit the Croft PTO.
- Buy a T-shirt: We have Croft T-Shirt available for $5.
- Donate supplies and SSA to our Croft Pencil Box and SSA closet.

Just 2 Hours
If we can get every Croft parent to commit Just 2 Hours to helping out, we can do amazing things for our kids and our school.
Will you please take some time to volunteer during this school year?
The research is so clear - kids at schools with a broad base of involved parents perform markedly better on all kinds of key school measures.
We'd love to help you get involved in any way that works for your schedule and interests. What would you like to do? When would you like to do it? We'd like to work with you to make sure all parents can pitch in. Involvement is for everyone.
We'd love your 2 Hours, and --Really! We promise! - there's no obligation beyond helping out in this small, but important way. If you'd like to do more - great, but we know that's not a fit for everyone.
Participating as a volunteer is easy. Simply complete the volunteer form (print attachment on our website click here) and return it to school with your child. We'll then be in touch with opportunities that fit your interests and availability.
Together, we can make a huge difference at our school. As always, please feel free to email croftpto@gmail.com if you have any questions or concerns.
Thanks in advance, Regina Thompson PTO Volunteer Coordinator
