How Organizations and Businesses Can Support Metro Schools

Helping every Nashville child be successful in school requires everyone doing their part to help. We value our community partners and their contributions to Metro Schools.

Several local nonprofits in Nashville help our students directly everyday in a variety of ways, such as providing support services at our Family Resource Centers, providing mentorship and career opportunities through our Academies of Nashville, volunteering in-person in our schools or donating directly to a school or district project.

The PENCIL Foundation coordinates individual and group volunteer opportunities and sponsorships, such as Academy Partnerships for our Academies of Nashville.

CEO Champions is a group of local executives, the Mayor, and the Director of Schools convened by the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce. The CEO Champions are committed to rallying the Nashville business community to support Metro’s reform efforts around the Academies of Nashville.

Industry Partnership Councils provide a district-wide perspective of their industry area and assist in providing quality learning experiences and resources for students participating in the Academies of Nashville. Each Partnership Council is composed of volunteer business leaders and MNPS educators who meet regularly to identify and match academy needs with community and district resources.

Alignment Nashville coordinates resource and planning support for Central Office Administration. The Nashville Public Education, along with the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce, support Metro Schools’ teacher and staff recognition programs.

Organizations like United Way and Hands ON Nashville coordinate employer-sponsored volunteer efforts directly in our schools.
