Early Childhood Toolkit

In the following weeks, Metro Nashville Public Schools (MNPS) will be providing information to Metro’s community regarding our prekindergarten and kindergarten programs for the 2017-2018 school year. Our goal is to ensure that Metro families are well informed of the programs available for their child, and do not miss any critical deadlines.

During this school year, we have worked with over 3,400 prekindergarten students and over 8,000 kindergarten students and their families. Informing these families of the prekindergarten application and kindergarten registration process was a tremendous effort that we could have not accomplished without the outreach by our community partners.

We greatly appreciate the connection you have with Metro’s community and are requesting that you assist us by providing the families you work with information on MNPS’ prekindergarten application process, kindergarten registration process and our upcoming Kindergarten Readiness Fair.

MNPS has created an online toolkit that provides your organization with access to in language flyers, posters, and social media messaging to support this community outreach effort.

Important dates for families are:

Kindergarten Registration Kick-Off Week: March 6 – 10, 2017 (Registration will be accepted after this date).

Pre-K Application Weeks: March 27 – April 7, 2017 (3:30 p.m. deadline)

Kindergarten Readiness Fair: Saturday, April 1, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at Lentz Public Health Center

If you have any questions on the above events or dates, please contact Family Information Center at 615-259-4636 or familyinfo@mnps.org. Thank you again for your support and efforts in supporting Metro Nashville families.
