What Makes Our School Unique?

Following the neighborhood schools concept, Ross is one of the few “walk-in schools” in the Metropolitan Nashville Public School system. Most of our students are walkers or transported by parents or daycare providers.

Our PENCIL Partners are committed to assisting faculty with additional resources to meet academic, social and emotional needs of our students. BellSouth sponsors a Ross School-a-thon to supply materials requested by teachers. The company has already supplied calculators for each student. During Read Me Week, students will visit BellSouth and read to employees.

The 100 Black Men of Middle Tennessee will sponsor a Book-a-thon to help equip the school library with more books. Additionally, members of this organization have adopted individual classrooms and will make monthly visits for lunch and to read to students. Ross’ students provide artwork for the organization’s office throughout the school year.

Community Partners

  • We credit our many successes to the collaborative efforts of the staff, community, parents, students of Ross, PTA, Volunteer Program, I Am Somebody Program and Vanderbilt Athletic Department.
