Academies of Nashville Awards
The Academies of Nashville Awards honor the outstanding educators and business partners who make a difference in Metro Nashville Public Schools.
Each award category has specific nominators — student ambassadors, business partners, or academy staff — who can recognize those making a difference. Nominations are evaluated on thoroughness, supportive evidence, collaboration, student impact, innovation, and creativity.
The award categories and nominators are:
Partner of the Year
- Recognizes a business partner who has made a significant impact on students through mentorship, engagement, or career-connected learning opportunities.
- Nominated by student ambassadors.
Teacher of the Year
- Honors a teacher who goes above and beyond to inspire, support, and positively impact students inside and outside the classroom.
- Nominated by student ambassadors.
Experiential Learning Innovator of the Year
- Recognizes a business or community partner that goes above and beyond to create hands-on learning opportunities like Career Fairs, Field Trips, Job Shadows, and/or Career Based Learning.
- Nominated by academy coaches.
Academy Innovator of the Year
- Honors a school-based staff member who exemplifies the academy structure through significant contributions to academy culture and initiatives.
- Nominated by academy faculty and staff.
Academy Champion of the Year
- Recognizes a school leader or educator who has greatly impacted business partnerships and student academy experiences, including experiential learning and mentorship.
- Nominated by business partners.
