The MNPS’ ParentLink free app gives you customizable and quick information on the district and your school.

The app, available in Google Play and in iOS, allows you to do things such as:

• Receive text and voice mail notifications from the district and your school

• View grades, assignments and attendance

• Follow your school on social media

• Review and manage your student’s school menu

Approved Communication Tools

Metro Schools recommends using the communication tools listed here because they adhere to the online safety and privacy standards we must all take seriously and enforce for the sake of our students.

Remind

Remind is the most commonly used messaging app for communication between teachers and their students and families.

Remind offers both a free and paid service, is great for chatting with groups and is certified by iKeepSafe for privacy practices related to the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act and the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act.

Skype

All MNPS teachers and schools have access to Skype for Business 2016, a free tool available on all smart devices that offers video conferencing, chat and screen sharing. It also offers live subtitles and captions.

Schoology

The learning management system Schoology is available to MNPS teachers in grades 5 to 12 and offers a robust set of learning and two-way communication tools that teachers and administrators can use with students and their families.

Approved Classroom Technology

Clever.com

The software and applications Metro Schools uses in the classroom are approved through a detailed administrative approval process.

The Clever portal provides 1-click access for many applications that students access with their own username and password.
