New intersession programs from Metro Parks for young actors

Still looking for something to do over spring intersession? Metro Parks and Recreation is offering two programs for young theater lovers. They aren't free, but they look like a lot of fun.

Metro Nashville Parks Music and Theater Department

Intercession Workshop Series Mar 18-22, 2013 (Monday - Friday)    From 9:00 am - 12 noon At the Centennial Arts Activity Center, in Centennial Park

Beginner/Acting One - Ages 9 and up Each day will provide opportunities for participants to experience the Theater Arts and its fundamental skills.  Sessions each day will include Creating a Character, Stage Skills One, and also rehearsing and performing of a Ten Minute Play.  This Session is designed for those with little or no acting experience.

Each participant must bring: a 3-ring binder and a pencil to each class.

Participants should wear comfortable clothing, and shoes that stay on their feet.  No "Crocs"/clogs/sandals.

Fee: $125

 

Intermediate/ Performance I & II - Ages 13 and up, with instructor approval Each day will offer an intensive approach to the skills needed for perfecting performance technique.  Sessions will include Improvisation II,  Approaching the Monologue I, and Character Study.  This session is designed for those with acting experience, and requires the approval of instructor.  Email instructor for approval.
