The Creek is Rising - Whites Creek shines in Nashville Mock Trial

As they like to say at Whites Creek High School, "The Creek is Rising." This was obvious to anyone who was at the Nashville Mock Trial competition a couple of weeks back. The Cobras took home the Best Rookie Team award and proved they belonged in competition with the big boys.

From Whites Creek teacher Jeremiah Davis:

The Mock Trial Competition took place in the historic courthouse in downtown Nashville at the end of February. A record 19 teams took part.

The Whites Creek Criminal Justice Cobras delivered fatal strikes to many teams and received the Best Rookie Team Award!  Our students worked hard and their intelligence and hard work were on display for all to see.

After the first round, teams are matched against other teams with similar scores.  Whites Creek went against three private schools and a magnet school.  We proved, in our first year of competing, that we are second to no school, public or private.  Our students are also making the connections necessary to leave their mark in the work force.

At the end of our last round, a Whites Creek student was the only student offered a summer job at a law firm, in front of all participants.  We appreciate the opportunity to represent Whites Creek and will represent Davidson county next year in the state competition.

Congratulations to the Whites Creek team!
