MNPS Virtual School dedicated to one of the district's finest employees (and graduates)

In what used to be a band room, students at MNPS Virtual School can now gather, study and bring some real-life interaction to their virtual schooling. Virtual School and district officials dedicated the Thomas W. Hatfield Student Success Center earlier this month inside the Cohn School.

Mr. Hatfield is well known to most anyone who works in Metro Schools. As the director of Plant Operations and Maintenance, he and his staff are responsible for building upgrades, maintenance and preparations for the start and end of school. He’s won awards for his work, but more importantly he’s won the respect of everyone he works with. Ask anyone who’s ever worked with Thomas Hatfield and they will have nothing but kind words for him and his work.

As an added bonus, Mr. Hatfield is a graduate of Cohn High School (c/o 1974), now known at The Cohn School, which houses MNPS Virtual School and The Cohn School.

The Student Success Center was a joint effort between Mr. Hatfield and the faculty of MNPS Virtual School. Working together, they created a welcoming and productive space for Virtual School students to work IRL.
