STEAM Family Nights Planned Across the District to Showcase the Power of STEAM Education

Bringing STEAM to life – that’s the goal for Metro Nashville Public Schools upcoming STEAM Family Nights. STEAM – which stands for science, technology, engineering, arts and math – takes on a new meaning in our middle schools: students and teachers engaging active minds – and with STEAM Family Nights, families and community members will have an opportunity to explore STEAM curriculum with interesting and exciting hands-on activities for students of all ages.

Families and students will visit different booths each featuring a different activity to complete. Each station will demonstrate how STEAM education is preparing our students to succeed in high school, college and career.

“A strong STEAM education has the ability to transform today’s students into life-long learners prepared for success in college, career, and life,” said Dr. Shawn Joseph, Director of Schools. “We are thrilled to partner with Discovery Education to present this series of exciting events to members of our community and look forward to demonstrating how powerful STEAM education is for our middle school learners.”
