Employee Benefits
Metro Nashville Public Schools offers a comprehensive benefits package that supports the health, wellness and financial security of employees and their families.
Available benefits may include medical, dental and vision coverage, retirement plans, life insurance, wellness resources and employee assistance services.
Your specific benefits package depends on whether you are a certificated teacher or employee or a support staff employee as described on this page. Two programs—the Employee Assistance Program and MNPS Employee & Family Health Care Centers—are provided to all employees and their families by Metro Schools, regardless of your position.
Certificated Employees
Active, certificated employees regularly scheduled to work at least 18 hours per week may be eligible for benefits.
Most benefits for certficated employees, including medical, dental, vision and hearing coverage, are provided through the Teachers' Health Trust and administered by Metro Schools.
Support Employees
Support employees who regularly work 20 or more hours per week may be eligible for benefits.
Most benefits for active and retired support employees, including medical, dental, vision and retirement plans, are administered through Metro Nashville Government.
Benefits Available to All Employees
These benefits are provided by Metro Schools.
Employee Assistance Program
The Employee Assistance Program, or EAP, administered by ComPsych, is available to all MNPS employees and their household family members at no cost.
The EAP provides free, confidential counseling and support services beginning on your first day of employment.
Health Care Centers
The MNPS Employee & Family Health Care Centers, operated by Vanderbilt Health, provide primary care, preventive care and wellness services for employees and their families.
Services include care for minor illnesses and injuries, preventive care, immunizations, behavioral health services and more.
