Athletics

Play Hard, Teamwork, Build Community & Fun
At Metro Nashville Public Schools, Athletics is more than just a game - it's a powerful journey of growth, grit and greatness!
Our athletic programs are designed to ignite passion, build resilience, and shape character. Through sports, student-athletes push their limits—not only physically, but mentally, morally, and socially—developing the strength and spirit to thrive on and off the field.
Athletics is a vital part of our educational experience, helping students become well-rounded individuals and inspiring them to lead with integrity, teamwork, and pride in their community. At MNPS, we don’t just play—we grow, we lead, and we rise together!

Athletic Associations and Participation
All High and Middle School interscholastic sports are members of the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association (TSSAA) and the Tennessee Middle School Athletic Association (TMSAA). We also abide by their constitutions and by-laws in addition to the applicable policies of the Davidson County Board of Education.
All students who meet the eligibility requirements of the TSSAA, policies of the Davidson County Board of Education and/or guidelines set forth by the WMAA are permitted to participate in the sports programs offered.
Before participating, students are required to have a physical on file dated after and complete the final forms process.
