Technology

At Metro Nashville Public Schools, we ensure every student and educator has access to the tools and support needed for powerful, engaging and equitable learning experiences- all while maintaining a commitment to academic integrity, safety and access for every learner.

Digital Tools for Teaching and Learning

The tools below are thoughtfully selected and available district-wide to meet instructional needs and increase engagement for student learning. All software used in MNPS is carefully reviewed and approved to ensure it aligns with academic standards and meets district data privacy and security requirements.

Individual schools may choose to use additional tools that support their specific instructional goals.

  • ClassLink- the gateway to all learning tools using signal sign-on; making it easy to access apps, assignments, and digital textbooks.
  • Schoology – Our district’s learning management system. Students access assignments, class updates, and resources, while families can stay connected to academic progress
  • Microsoft 365 – Includes Outlook, OneDrive, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams, supporting collaboration, productivity, and communication across the district.
  • Canva for Education – A creative platform for students and educators to design presentations, graphics, and visual projects that bring learning to life.
  • Minecraft: Education Edition – A game-based learning platform that builds skills in collaboration, creativity, and problem-solving while supporting subjects like science, math, and history.

Hardware and Classroom Technology

MNPS is committed to ensuring every student and educator has access to high-quality, reliable hardware that supports daily learning. The use of internet and digital tools is governed by Board of Education policy 4.406.

Student Devices

Every student receives a district-provided laptop. Students in grades 3-12 can use those devices at home and school.

Classroom Enhancements

Classrooms across MNPS include:

  • Audio enhancement systems for clear teacher instruction
  • Projection tools or interactive displays to support visual learning
  • Additional learning tools, such as document cameras or iPads may be available, based on individual school and classroom needs
