- 2017-18 Signing Bonuses for High-Need Subject Areas: Under the direction of Dr. Shawn Joseph and the Human Resources leadership of Deborah Story, Metro Nashville Public Schools is excited to announce the new teacher incentive for educators in high-need areas a signing bonus. What does that mean? External applicants for positions designated by MNPS as high-need subjects will be eligible to receive up to $6,000 per school year, as funding permits. The signing bonuses are based on school ranking, content area and district priority. Signing bonuses will be paid out in two equal payments (less applicable taxes). One at the completion of the first semester and the remainder after the successful completion of the second semester.

Employee Self Service Portal: Starting in January 2017 Metro Employees will no longer receive a printed pay stub. The same information and more can be accessed via the Employee Self Service Portal (ESS). If you have not logged in before, please do so as soon as you can. The Distinguished Professionals Education Institute (DPEI) contracts with MNPS to recruit and hire licensed teachers and degreed, eligible professionals for part-time teaching positions in music. Applicants should have a Tennessee Teacher's license with an endorsement in music or have a Master's or Bachelor's degree with at least 24 semester hours in music and five years of working experience in the field of music. Current openings include: class guitar, class piano, world percussion and songwriting. Applicants may go to www.dpteach.org to apply online.
Criminal Background Check Information
The Metropolitan Nashville Public School System requires a Criminal Background Clearance (CBC) which includes fingerprinting on all new employees, re-hired employees, employees changing classification, substitutes, student teachers, student practicum, volunteers, tutors and vendors.
The CBC must be on file before you start work.

Fingerprint results are only valid for 180 days.
