Cambridge Early Learning Center’s vision is to provide a high-quality, innovative learning environment for the whole child, cultivating academic, physical, social and emotional well-being.

Cambridge’s teachers and staff collaborate with families to provide resources and information to support their child’s education. They offer hands-on opportunities for children to grow academically, socially and emotionally to prepare them for lifelong learning.

Their research-based Creative Curriculum uses exploration and discovery as ways of learning. In addition to the basics, students learn lifelong critical thinking skills to build confidence.  little girl reading book in class

Cambridge ensures Every Student is Known by having everyone in the building wear a name tag. Faculty, staff, visitors and school partners are all included in the effort to address every student by name. During morning arrival, every student is greeted at their vehicle. At dismissal, students are individually called by name to reconnect with their families.

Cambridge is culturally diverse, with 10-15 different languages spoken in the school. Staff represent the same cultures as the student population and translate regularly for families.

The school mascot is a panda, which is also an acronym that represents Cambridge’s commitment to diversity: Preparing And Nurturing Diverse Achievers.

“I believe that all students can learn, if we teach them,” says DeAnne Miree, the executive principal. “We have immigrant families with students that enter our doors with no English. We have a welcoming atmosphere where parents and students feel safe and supported every day.”

Cambridge Early Learning Center is MNPS’s newest Pre-K program. It opened in August 2016 in the former Nashville Public Library branch in Antioch.
