Campus Portal for Students and Families

Campus Parent allows for easier access for all of your children under one username, as well as the ability to manage family and emergency contact information such as phone numbers, emergency contacts, contact order, and relationships.

• Includes enhanced features to make it more useful, including a responsive design optimized for use on mobile devices and tablets. 

• Grants additional access and modification capabilities that do not exist in the Campus Student account.

• Grants parents access to a Self Service section to update household and emergency contact information, including many more features to come.

• Offers features that will not exist in Campus Student.

• Access to the Personalized Student Dashboard.

Don't Use Your Student's Campus Account, Please. Here's Why...

• The enhanced features are not available in the Student Campus account.
• The student account also cannot manage contact information.

Schoology and Permissions Portal

• Student work also can be reviewed in Schoology, the district's learning management system. Families can sign up to receive an update on student work via email from Schoology.
• The Permissions Portal for annual student permissions can be accessed in the Campus Parent Portal, too.

Campus Student app offers students access to all their grades and schedules but does not have the ability to manage family/contact information.

 Campus Portal also offers full access to the Personalized Student Dashboard, which displays student assessment and testing data. Which shows: 

• Classwork and class grades
• MAP Assessment information, which measures your student’s academic growth over time
• TCAP Assessment scores
• Attendance
• Academic Plan, a special feature for high schoolers that tracks credits needed for graduation

• Better communication between teachers and families through emails and mobile alerts. Teachers can send messages to parents, and schools are able to post important news and announcements.

To Access Campus Portal 

1. Visit the Campus Parent Portal login page.
2. Click on the link marked "New User?"
3. Parents can retrieve their activation key through an online portal, or contacting your school, and providing information about your student in order to confirm your identity.
4. Once you receive the activation key, copy it and return to the portal account creation page. Watch the video instructions. 
5. Follow the steps listed on the site to create a user ID and password.
   1. Use a personal email address as your log-in. This will secure a unique log-in name.
   2. To be as secure as possible, we recommend your password be at least 8 characters and contain a combination of letters, numbers and special characters.
6. Keep your contact information up-to-date in the "Contact Preferences" section of the portal.

NOTE: After your initial log-in, you will be required to enter a recovery email address, which will allow you to reset your password on your own if you ever forget it.

By Using Your Activation Key, You Agree

• You are the person you say you are, and you have not fraudulently obtained this activation key.
• Information accuracy is a shared responsibility among schools, parents/guardians and students.
• You are granted access to information for student(s) for whom you, according to the MNPS system, have custodial rights. If any other students are included in your Campus Parent Portal, you must notify your school front office personnel immediately.
• MNPS maintains the right to add, modify or delete information and Campus Parent Portal functions at any time, as well as the right to deny parents access with suitable cause.
• Use of the portal is subject to electronic monitoring by the district.

To Update Contact Information Online

1. Click the Campus Portal link.
2. Click Campus Parent
3. Enter your username and password
   1. If you forgot your username or password, follow the intructions for resetting
   2. Contact your school or the Family Information Center, 615-259-4636, for help.
4. If you are logged in, click the little person icon in the top right
5. Click "Settings"
6. Select "Contact Preferences"
7. Fill in or verify your:
   1. Telephone numbers
   2. Email address
   3. Preferred language
8. Select "Save"

Note: The Message Preferences section is for information you want to receive about your student and is in addition to school-wide or district-wide call-outs.

To Update Information in the App

Download the Campus Parent app, if you don't already have it via Google Play or iOS

1. Log into the Campus Parent App
2. Click the little person icon in the top right
3. Click "Settings"
4. Click "Contact Preferences"
5. Enter your email and phone number/s
6. Select the kind of information you would like to receive about your student - this is in addition to district-wide and school-wide callouts and include attendance, behavior, emergency and from teachers.
7. Select "Save"

Opt Back in to District Messages

If you're not getting district or school phone calls, check to make sure your phone and email are correct in the Family Portal (Download the instructions).

If the information is correct and you want to opt back in to receive calls or texts, here are the instructions:

•  
• Telephone opt in: Call the Blackboard Phone Hotline at "855-502-STOP (855-502-7867)" from the phone line that has been opted out.
• Opt in to Text (SMS) messages: Reply START to "60680" from the phone line that has been opted out messages.
• Reply START to "54968" for emergency messages.

PS: If you opted out, our staff cannot opt you in per the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.

General Questions and Technical Support

Contact your child's school for Family Portal questions. A Family Portal Liaison at school is trained to help and offer technical and user support. 

Do you need an Activation Key? 

Contact your child's school or the district Family Information Center, which also can provide the activation key 

Do you need a password reset?

The district Family Information Center reset your password. 

To verify your information, be prepared to show:

•  a photo ID (driver's license, passport, military ID, etc.)
•  proof of residence (current utility bill or lease/rent/mortgage document in the Parent/Guardian's name)

Updating household information?

Updating the household information for your student may require other types of information, such as a court-ordered custody arrangement, Power of Attorney, or DCS Education Passport, for staff to verify you should have access to student information.
