The Personalized Student Dashboard has been updated to include a graphical view of key focus areas for students, including grades, behavior, attendance, and TCAP results. This allows you to track your student's progress throughout the year.

How to Access Your Student's Dashboard

click the "Personalized Student Dashboard."

The Campus Portal offers families a deep understanding and knowledge of student progress through the Personalized Student Dashboard, which displays student assessment and testing data and also student:

Log into Campus Parent for Information

To see student information, parents or guardians need to have access to the Infinite Campus Parent Portal. If you don't already have a Campus Parent account, visit the Portal page for instructions to sign up for an account.

A Parent Account is Preferred

Parents should not log into the Portal using their student's account, but rather create their own Campus Parent account. Here's why:

Campus Parent allows for easy access to see information for all of your children under one username, as well as the ability to manage family and emergency contact information such as phone numbers, emergency contacts, contact order, and relationships.
The Campus Student app offers students access to all their grades and schedules but does not have the ability to manage family/contact information.

TCAP TNReady

The TCAP TNReady assessment is mandated by the Tennessee Department of Education in grades 3-8 as part of the Tennessee Comprehensive Assessment Program (TCAP). TNReady measures student mastery of state academic standards in English/Language Arts (ELA), Mathematics, Science and Social Studies.

Provided here is an example of the student dashboard report layout for TNReady.

For each subject the student’s scale score (“SCORE”) is shown first. Scale scores range from 200 to 450 at each grade level but are not directly comparable from subject to subject.

However, the more items a student answers correctly within a particular subject and grade, the higher the scale score. The “RESULT” column shows the student’s achievement level for the subject, which is determined from the scale score. There are four possible achievement levels. From lowest to highest they are Below Expectations (previously called Below), Approaching Expectations (previously called Approaching), Met Expectations (previously called On Track) and Exceeded Expectations (previously called Mastered).

A student is considered proficient and on the right path for college and career readiness if the student achieves Met Expectations or Exceeded Expectations.

District Benchmarks

MNPS administers benchmark assessments at the end of each quarter to monitor progress toward meeting grade level state standards. These assessments are administered in all state-tested grades and subject areas. Questions for each assessment are aligned to grade level state standards taught each quarter based on MNPS curricula.

Benchmark assessments provide educators, students, and families with information regarding how students are currently progressing in their learning so they can make adjustments and provide additional supports to ensure students have the greatest opportunity to grow and be successful.

Results from each assessment are analyzed to provide an indication of how students are performing with respect to meeting end of year learning goals. This performance is categorized the same way state tests are reported: Below Expectations, Approaching Expectations, Met Expectations, or Exceeded Expectations.

Performance categories provide an indication of student performance but do not determine how students will actually perform on state assessments.

FastBridge AReading and aMath

FastBridge aReading and aMath are computer-adaptive assessments that measure student academic achievement and growth over time. Results are nationally normed, which means they can be used to compare student achievement and growth to students nationally. Because they adapt based on student responses and are grade-level independent, these assessments can provide growth data for all students, whether they are on grade level, below grade level, or above grade level. aReading and aMath are administered 3 times each school year as a part of the MTSS Universal Screening Process.

Three pieces of information are reported in the “RESULT” column:

A risk level indicator (high risk, some risk, or low risk) is generated based on the student’s most recent assessment score. This indicator helps schools identify and provide additional support for students at risk for not meeting grade-level benchmarks in reading or math.
The national percentile score is the percentage of students in the national sample that had lower scores than the student being reported. For example, a student who scored at the 46th percentile scored higher than 46 percent of students in the national sample for their grade level.
Yes or No indicates whether or not the student’s most recent national percentile score met or exceeded their national percentile score on the assessment at the start of the school year. For example, if the student scored in the 46th national percentile on the fall assessment and the 46th national percentile or higher on the most recent assessment, this field would indicate yes.

Measures of Academic Progress (MAP)

Prior to the 2022-23 school year, MAP tests were typically administered in Reading and Mathematics three times each school year. MAP is a computer adaptive assessment that measures student academic achievement and growth over time. Because it adapts based on student responses and is grade level independent, MAP can provide growth data for all students, whether they are on grade level, below grade level, or above grade level. Results are nationally normed, which means they can be used to compare student achievement and growth to students nationally.

To make the RIT score more meaningful, we compare that score to the RIT scores of a national sample of students in the same grade at the same time of year. In the “RESULT” column we see the national percentile score, which is the percentage of students in the national sample that had lower scores than the student being reported. Nationally the average student would be at the 50th percentile – meaning that the student scored higher than half of students at that grade level.

For example, on May 6, 2021, a student, Albert, had a Reading RIT score of 210, which was higher than 48 percent of students nationally (“48TH %ILE”) at the same grade level.

The MAP assessment also allows us to compare the academic growth made from the beginning of the school year (August or September) until later tests. The “Growth from the Start of Year” is shown in the “RESULT” column below the national percentile score. In the above example, Albert made growth in Reading achievement from August 2020 until May 2021 of 6 RIT points (from 204 to 210).

That growth, however, was in the low average (“Lo Average”) range compared to similar students nationally. MAP growth will be reported as either Low, Lo Average, Average, Hi Average, or High.

The student dashboard provides MAP scores from February 2020 to January 2022. It should be noted that national percentile scores will tend to fluctuate somewhat over time. Furthermore, with tests administered virtually in August 2020 and January 2021, those scores may fluctuate more than usual.

ACT and Civics Exams

ACT Exam

The ACT is a college entrance exam used by many universities and colleges as part of their admissions and scholarship decisions. The primary purpose of the ACT exam is to measure a high school student’s readiness for college. Tennessee public school students are required to attempt either the ACT or the SAT in order to graduate with a regular high school diploma.

The ACT exam assesses students in English, Mathematics, Reading, and Science. Scores for each of these four test sections range from 1 to 36. A Composite score is computed across these four sections and is also reported on a 1 to 36 scale. A Composite score of 21 is recognized by the Tennessee Department of Education as an indicator of college readiness and meets the eligibility requirement for the Tennessee HOPE Scholarship. In addition, ACT College Readiness benchmarks have been identified for each section. These minimum benchmark scores serve as indicators of likely success in first-year college courses. An English score of 18 or above indicates likely success in English Composition I. A Math score of 22 is the benchmark for College Algebra. A Reading score of 22 indicates readiness for college courses in History, Psychology, Sociology, Political Science or Economics. The benchmark for college Biology is a Science score of 23.

ACT exam results and Civics exam results are displayed in the student dashboard.

The ACT Composite score and date of the test are shown first, under National Tests, in a bold font. Following the Composite score are four rows with section scores for English, Math, Reading and Science.

All scores on the ACT 1-36 scale are shown in the “SCORE” column.

As an example, a student named Robert, attempted the ACT on two occasions, February 1, 2020, and October 1, 2020. Robert’s Composite score improved from an 18 to a 21 from February to October. His scores also improved for each of the four test sections.

Civics Exams

Tennessee public school students are required to pass a Civics exam in order to graduate with a regular high school diploma. This exam is the United States citizenship and immigration test, and students must correctly answer 70 percent or more of the test items to pass. Students have unlimited opportunities to attempt the Civics exam.

The Civics exam score is shown in the dashboard under State Tests. In our example, Robert passed the exam with a score of 100 – meaning that he correctly answered 100 percent of the test items.

End of Course (EOC Exams)

End of Course exams are mandated by the Tennessee Department of Education in selected high school courses as part of the Tennessee Comprehensive Assessment Program (TCAP).

EOC exams measure student mastery of state academic standards in English I and II; Integrated Math I, II and III; Algebra I and II, Geometry, Biology I and U.S. History.

WIDA Access

Schools are required by federal law to assess the English proficiency of all English Learner (EL) students. The WIDA ACCESS assessment is administered annually in Tennessee to measure the progress of EL students in reading, writing, listening, and speaking. This information provides teachers and schools with valuable information to evaluate the effectiveness of instructional programs and support for EL students.

The column named “SCORE” contains scale scores used to track student growth over time and across grades. Scale scores may range anywhere from 100 to 600, and the higher the score the higher the student’s overall level of English proficiency.

Following the scale score, in the column labeled “RESULT,” is the student’s English proficiency level.

There are six levels of proficiency. From least to most proficient these four levels are as follows: 1) Entering, 2) Emerging, 3) Developing, 4) Expanding, 5) Bridging, and 6) Reaching.

In this example, Jennifer attempted the ACCESS assessment five times between 2016 and 2020. Her scale score increased each time, which indicates English proficiency growth over time. Over these five years Jennifer’s proficiency level improved from the lowest level, Entering, to the third level, Developing.
