Supporting Our Students

Supporting Our Students

Every child deserves to have their individual needs met. Metro Schools has dedicated educators, staff and systems that ensure this happens on purpose, not on accident.

Our daily aim is to create a holistic approach that addresses both the emotional and academic needs of students, leading to better outcomes in school and life. In our classrooms and in our schools, Every Student is Known.

  • Multi-Tiered System of Support
    Multi-Tiered System of Support
Our district schools use a framework called Multi-Tiered System of Support. What does that mean? Every MNPS student starts with strong, daily instruction (Tier 1). Teachers review progress every five weeks and, if a child needs more help, they add small‑group (Tier 2) or one‑on‑one (Tier 3) support in reading, math, or behavior and always in partnership with parents.
  • Social and Emotional Learning
    Social and Emotional Learning

Social and emotional learning are integrated into our work to create a positive climate and culture across our district, in schools and classrooms.

Students learn to name feelings, solve problems, build friendships, and make safe choices. These lessons happen in morning meetings, class discussions, and schoolwide activities so every child feels respected, ready to learn, and part of a caring community.

  • MNPS ReimaginED
    MNPS ReimaginED

MNPS ReimaginED is our initiative to give students more engaging lessons, real‑world learning, and extra time with teachers. It ties together MTSS, SEL, career exploration, and modern classrooms so your child is prepared for college, career, and life.
