It’s a big step for our little ones and their families and Booster the Rooster has a message for Nashville’s young learners!
Kindergarten enrollment at Metro Nashville Public Schools is open for the 2023-2024 school year and we hope all Davidson County parents and guardians with children turning five years old on or before Aug. 15, 2023, will choose an MNPS school.
A smooth transition to kindergarten is essential to a successful start to a child’s academic journey. Starting kindergarten can also be a very emotional time for families, so we’ve made it our goal to make the process as easy and comfortable as possible. Registration is simple - families can register for school online or at one of our eight enrollment centers.
Families bringing their children to kindergarten for the first time will see that each of MNPS’ 70 elementary schools offer abundant opportunities, fun activities and caring staff to meet students’ needs, help them develop, and prepare them for a future of learning and academic success.
Within our kindergarten classrooms, we offer high-quality, play-based programs that grow with the students. With children coming together to learn from language-rich and diverse environments, our schools encourage students to explore and ask questions, while also developing fundamental relationship-building skills for young learners.
As a reminder, kindergarten registration is still required even if a child already attends an MNPS Pre-K program or is applying for a school outside their zone as part of our School Options process.
