MNPS families with students in grades Pre-K to 3rd grade will have free access to Ready4K, a research-based text messaging program that will help you continue your child’s learning at home.

Starting January 11, 2021, Ready4K will deliver three texts per week in English or Spanish with fun facts and tips to provide families with simple, engaging activities to help your child continue to learn and grow. The resource is available through a partnership with the Tennessee Department of Education and the Governor’s Early Literacy Foundation.

The messages match each student’s age, even if you have more than one child, and they build on daily family routines such as getting dressed, bath time or preparing a meal.

“We’re pleased to make Ready4K available to MNPS families in 2021,” said Phyllis Phillips, the district’s director of pre-kindergarten programs. “This resource will give our youngest students and their parents another way to engage with and enjoy learning throughout the week.”

MNPS families with students in grades Pre-K through 3 will automatically be enrolled in this service based on information provided through the Family Portal. Once you receive the first text, you may opt out of Ready4K by texting STOP to 70138.
