The district and Nashville Public Television will host the event at Hillsboro High School, 3812 Hillsboro Road, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

A portion of the film – executive produced by acclaimed documentary filmmaker Ken Burns – will be shown before the panelists, including Dr. Monica Coverson, MNPS’s Director of Social Work and Trauma Informed Schools, talk about some of the issues it raises and the best ways to support students.

You can reserve your seat by registering for the event on Eventbrite. Food will be served starting at 5 p.m., with doors to the auditorium opening at 5:30.

Parking will be available in Hillsboro’s garage off Glen Echo Road, and the high school is easily accessible via city bus routes, with a WeGo transit center in front of the school.

During the screening and discussion, MNPS school counselors and representatives of local mental health nonprofit organizations will be on hand to offer resources and support to anyone who needs it.

Along with Dr. Coverson, the other panelist will be Will “Big Fella” Simms, an MNPS parent and community leader, along with local youth voices. WPLN's Khalil Ekulona, host of “This is Nashville,” will be the moderator.
